The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Division of Licensing, licenses and regulates the recovery industry in accordance with Chapter 493, Florida Statutes, to ensure the interests of the public are adequately served and protected.

A “Recovery Agency” is a business that, for consideration, performs repossessions, or advertises to provide repossession services.

To perform repossessions, a “Recovery Agent” (an individual who, for consideration, advertises as providing or performs repossessions) must be licensed and must own or work for a licensed recovery agency.

Description

In order to apply for Class “E” Recovery Agent License, or a Class “EE” Recovery Agent Intern License, applicants must complete a 40 hours Recovery Agent course thru a State of Florida licensed Recovery Agent School.

An applicant for class “E” license shall have one year of lawfully gained, verifiable, full time experience, or training in one, or a combination of more than one of the following:

1.- Repossession of motor vehicles, mobile homes, motorboats, aircraft, personal watercraft, all terrain vehicle, farm or industrial equipment.

2.- Work as class “EE” licensed intern.

3.- Relevant military training or education received and completed in the United States Armed Forces.

An applicant for class “EE” license within 90 days of submitting the application, must submit proof of successfully completion of 40 hours of professional training taken from licensed “RS” school, failure to do so, will result in the denial of your application.

Duration: 40 hours

Requirements: Be US Citizen, US permanent resident or have proof of employment authorization issued by Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration services (USCIS) Forms I-551   I-766
